The Fox River Academy is a public environmental charter school serving grades K-8 with a focus on the Fox River Watershed. Core subject areas are taught through an integrated curriculum in multi-age classrooms. As part of the Appleton Area School District, FOX is a public school and does not charge tuition. Educational opportunities are funded by the AASD, grants and donations from public and private sources. The Fox River Academy is located within Jefferson Elementary School at 1000 S. Mason Street, Appleton, WI 54914 and in the adjacent Green Teaching Building, a former Appleton Park and Recreation office, located between Jefferson Elementary School and Pierce Park.
